* BEGIN NETCAST * The main story for tonight is about the strained relationship between the Selesthian empire and the Autocratic Star Empire of Mor-Kreln. The Selesthians have issued a decree that any ASE ship entering their space will be warned to turn around or else face the possibility of being destroyed. This occurs days after an ASE longbay ship opened fired upon a section of the Selesthian Ring complex owned by the Fab'rini. The ASE defended this attack as reasonable because they were at a state of war with the Fab'rini. There have not been any estimates on the total amount of damage caused by this attack. Although the Selesthians were able to catch up to the longbay ship, it was allowed to leave their space. In response the ASE sent out a netcast which seemed to be a parody of the Selesthian's netcast. We have not determined what the ASE plans are and what the objective of the netcast was. We do know that ArTir'stari Prenai replied to the ASE stating, "I would like to see some evidence, althought it's evident you are talking nonsense." All communications between the Selesthians and the ASE have been closed by the Selesthians. Further information will be given as this situation progresses. Also of note was the inauguration of the Sesth IV ring complex. It was hailed as a diplomatic field where the diplomats can feel at home yet be to the diplomats of other empires. The ring is composed of several independent space stations each connecting to the other through transportation tubes. Currently the following empires have connected to the ring: Genotian Protectorate, the Spider Queen Theocracy, New Asgard, the ERB, and the Fab'rini. Though the complex is large in size the Selesthians have asked that more empires would contribute to the complex. A concern has arisen about the power consumption of the ring complex but the Selesthians have assured people that everything is alright. It seems that the Selesthians have been very busy lately near the borders. It has been detected that a ship from the Spider Queen Theocracy has exploded inside Selesthian space. Little is know about the cause of the explosion, although the current assessment of the situation is that there was a problem with the ship leveling into the zone. There was a drive malfunction which caused the ship to explode. Other spider ships were within the vicinity of the explosion but due to the treaty between the Selesthians and the SQT the ships were forced to move across the border back to SQT space. In a different part of the galaxy a battle rages on. It seems that a group of ships from the CIIS and Tritons were going to rendezvous together but were intercepted by a large fleet of Penumbra cruisers. The battle is fierce with many casualities on each side. If things do not change it is possible that the Penumbra cruisers will destroy both the CIIS and Triton ships. *END NETCAST* Written by Chris Corliss |
